Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna's much-anticipated film, Sikandar, faced a significant setback when it was leaked online just hours before its official theatrical release on March 30, 2025. Reports indicate that an HD version of the movie surfaced on various piracy websites, including Tamilrockers, Movierulz, and Filmyzilla, as well as multiple Telegram groups, offering unauthorized streaming and download links.

In a Times of India article, trade analyst Komal Nahta highlighted the severity of the situation, stating, "It's the worst nightmare for any producer. A film being leaked before its theatrical release." He further mentioned that the producers managed to have the pirated content removed from approximately 600 sites, but the damage had already been done.

Despite these challenges, Sikandar managed to collect approximately ₹21.96 crore on its opening day across all languages, driven by the unwavering support of Salman Khan's fanbase.  However, the leak is expected to impact the film's overall box office performance.

The Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) condemned the act of piracy, emphasizing the significant financial harm caused to the film industry. They called for stricter enforcement of anti-piracy laws and enhanced digital security measures to protect intellectual property rights.

Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Salman Khan Films, features an ensemble cast, including Anjini Dhawan, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi. The film continues to play in theaters, with fans encouraged to support the official release.
